Initial Report: Train derailment on San Bernardino Subdivision

On Wednesday, November 07, 2018 at 12:07 p.m. CDT, we received a preliminary report of a Union Pacific train derailment near DT Junction, CA impacting all BNSF main line tracks. DT Junction, CA is approximately 7 miles southeast of Los Angeles, CA. BNSF field personnel are responding to the derailment site. The estimated time of opening for the main tracks is November 07, 2018…

at 7:00pm PST.

As a result of the derailment our intermodal facilities are experiencing elevated inventory due to the delay of departing eastbound inventory from the facilities awaiting the reopening of the main lines. BNSF is taking the following actions as part of the service recovery effort.
• We will restrict units from ingating at Los Angeles, CA starting at 10:00am PST 11/08/18 for standard (p-rated) units destined to Pearland, TX, Kansas City, KC, Memphis, TN, and Alliance, TX. We will review these restrictions on a daily bases and advise impacted customers with changes to these restrictions.

BNSF will continue to provide you with additional information as it becomes available. The next update to this service advisory will be provided on 11/08/18.
